Donations
We are funded solely by private donations. Please help us continue providing animals the love, care, and support they need and make a donation today.

We also appreciate receiving the following items:

- POSTAGE STAMPS
- Canned cat/dog food
- Paper towels

- 33 gallon trash bags
- Laundry detergent
- Small washable rugs & towels
- Liquid hand soap
- Aluminum cans
- Newspapers

Although we don't have a drop box for donations, you can drop them off at the shelter or call us to arrange pick-up.
Volunteer opportunities
Love playing and working with dogs and cats? Volunteer with us! Drop in or call in advance and offer to do specific tasks if you have a preference, such as dog walking, bathing, or grooming.
No groups larger than three, please. If you prefer volunteering around a schedule, please call (815) 784-5924 to set one up. We look for people who can fill the following roles (call for details):
- Animal socializing
- Dog walking/training
- Nail trimming/clipping
- Basic cleaning
- Laundry
- Carpentry
- Fundraisers
- Mailings
- Marketing
Reporting animal abuse and neglect
If you know someone who is abusing or neglecting an animal, please call the shelter and ask to speak with an investigator. We have two licensed investigators who know what to do in such cases.
