Adopting an animal
It's often just a look or connection that leads to finding the perfect pet. Our animals are always available for you to see, meet and interact with. If you find a pet you want to adopt, come in for an informal, get-to-know-you conversation so we can make sure everything will work out for you and your pet.
Our dogs are $80 and our cats are $60. We give them a distemper combination vaccination, a worm treatment and they are spayed/neutered. Adoptions fees help defray the cost of operating the facility, giving vaccinations, and spaying/neutering every pet prior to adoption. Your donations to the shelter keep adoption fees affordable
Surrender
Please call us to discuss the surrender of your animal. Issues such as adoptability, space availabile, and urgency of placement must be resolved before we accept your pet. Please note we are not licensed to accept or accomodate animals other than dogs and cats.
If you find a stray dog or cat, you should first contact local shelters, Animal Control and local veterinarians to determine if someone is missing a pet. If you call us we can help try to find the owner or help find a place for the animal while waiting for the owner to claim it.
The next step is to take the animal to a shelter or vet to have it scanned for microchips. Animal Control will pick up found/stray dogs in DeKalb County, however, they do not take cats. Local newspapers will run a free “found” ad if no one claims the animal right away.
